Cold glass plus warm humid indoor air equals water on the window, and up here that is a genuine winter routine rather than an occasional annoyance. Blinds do not cause it, but the wrong blind becomes its first casualty: a soft absorbent weave sitting hard against wet glass will wick moisture, spot, and eventually grow mould along the bottom rail. Two practical rules. Choose wipeable fabrics, PVC backed blockout or aluminium slats, in the rooms that run wet. Fit with enough clearance for air to move behind the blind, and lift the blind during the day so the glass and the sill can dry.
